XENIA —Two of the state’s top girls soccer teams played to a thrilling draw Saturday on Munoz Field at Athletes in Action.
Greeneview and Legacy Christian tied 3-3 in non-league play. The draw was the first time Greeneview had not won a match this season, with its record now standing at 11-0-1. LCA is now 10-1-1 following the contest.
Both sides had a pair of two-goal efforts with Mya Simpson for the Rams and Allie Graves for the Knights lifting their respective offenses.
Daylee Sandlin got the other goal for Greeneview, while Mady Schlater and Sandlin both assisted on goals. Keeley Anderson made 14 saves in net.
The Knights had Ava Combs score its other goal, and got six saves out of Autumn Allport.
Graves, Sandlin and Simpson all lead their respective conferences in scoring and points this season.
Both sides came into the matchup ranked in the top five of the MaxPreps rankings for Division V schools in the state. LCA is ranked third, and Greeneview is fifth.
Greeneview and LCA next will both play crucial games in the race for league titles. The Knights host Dayton Christian on Tuesday with the winner emerging as the Metro Buckeye Conference favorite. Greeneview travesl to Greenon on Wednesday, ranked fifth in D-IV, in a showdown of the final two unbeaten teams in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
