FAIRBORN — The newly-forming All Community Interfaith Choir is welcoming new members to begin preparations for the Christmas season by rehearsing Sunday evenings through the end of the year.

Organized to promote a return to Christian values of integrity, charity and fellowship among persons of all denominations who are not afraid to call themselves Christians, the ACIC will put into action its motto “uniting in song to strengthen faith in Jesus Christ.” Based in classical music the choir will perform a wide repertoire of interdenominational hymns, sacred Christian choral works and original choral arrangements of favorite orchestral pieces.

The choir is under the baton of Fairborn’s Tracy Sandberg — a veteran of decades of conducting choirs large and small, and lyricist and choral arranger of pieces by Samuel Barber, Pietro Mascani, Gustav Holst, and others. The ACIC accompanist is the very capable Judy Delph of West Carrollton, who has served as organist to area churches.

“The choir is entirely volunteer,” said Sandberg. “Our only compensation is the enjoyment of good music well done and the sense of community we are building.”

Performances will be free of charge and open to all. Rehearsals will be 7-8:30 p.m. Sundays at 3080 Bell Drive, Fairborn near WSU Nutter Center. For more information contact Sandberg at 937-344-3347.
