Local poolplayers heading to world championships


XENIA — Wandering Blindly, a team of billiards players from Stan’s Good Tymes in Xenia, will be competing in the 2018 American Poolplayers Association 8-ball world championship in August.

Captain Mike Collins, Co-Captain Larry Daye Jr, Paul Beegle, Keith Reed, Kristina Drazek, Larry Daye, Ryan McClanahan, and Jason Criswell will be shooting for the $25,000 first prize in the event being held at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & CasinoMonday through Saturday, Aug. 13-18.

The Xenia-based team is a member of the Midwest Ohio APA Pool League and participate in weekly league play.

The APA sanctions the world’s largest amateur pool league — the APA Pool League — throughout the US and as the Canadian Pool League in Canada. It is generally recognized as the governing body of amateur pool, having established the official rules, championships, formats and handicap systems for the sport of amateur billiards.
