Alforetta Hughes, a long-time resident of Xenia and member of United AME Church, was honored with the Wilberforce University Alumni Associations Alumni of the Year Award, presented during its National Conference Green and Gold Awards Gala held July 21. Hughes was recognized for more than 30 years of service at her alma mater, Wilberforce University.
