XENIA — Local children and young adults can explore nature through two outdoor summer camps hosted by Greene County Parks & Trails. The “Nature on the Go” camps will feature a week of creekin’, fishing, looking for critters, hiking, crafts and more, and will be held during two sessions: June 22-26 at Phillips Park, 1981 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek; and June 20-July 2 at Indian Mound Reserve, 2750 US Route 42, Cedarville.

Camps are designed for those seven years and older up to the age of 13. Day camps are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with fees $50 for residents and $60 for non-residents per week.

Each camper will receive one T-shirt, as well as a certificate signed by his or her counselor. The certificate will also have a photograph of their camp group.

Children should bring a healthy lunch (e.g. sandwich, fruit and veggies) and water bottle every day. Preschoolers will want to bring along a snack and a water bottle. Water and restroom facilities are available at all camps. Participants should be prepared to explore regardless of the weather and should wear old clothes and shoes that can get wet.
