XENIA — Long-time meal driver Betty Anderson was named volunteer of the year by the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center.

During 2014, more than 100 people volunteered at the center to do various jobs including deliver meals, answer the phone, greet visitors and cook and clean.

Anderson has been delivering meals for more than 15 years and was honored during a celebration recognizing all the volunteers.

Board chair Dick Strous and Judy Baker, executive director, both said the center could not do half of what it does without the help of volunteers.

For more information about the center and volunteering or to learn about the services and activities, call 937-376-4353 or visit the Center at 130 E. Church St.
