Long-time Xenia resident Bruce Barcelo received the,”Outstanding Contributions to Health Education Award” Oct. 23. The award was presented at the annual Ohio Health Institute as was sponsored by the Ohio Society for Public Health Education. Barcelo is involved in many health-related groups including Tobacco-Free Coalition (chairman); Ohio Tobacco-Free Alliance (chairman); United Against Violence Leadership Team; Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force; Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality; American Academy of Pediatrics and DPS TEAM.
