Happy Hands for Babies

Happy Hands for Babies will be held 8:30-10 a.m. Mondays, Feb. 1 and 6-6:30 p.m. Mondays, April 18 at the Community Center. Experience music play and American Sign Language (together, while strengthening motor, social, and cognitive skills. Participants will learn ASL in combination with songs, instruments, lap games, and hand puppets to encourage communication and musical development. Classes will be accompanied by guitar; representing folk, lullabies, classics and originals. Class for ages 6-24 months. Cost $40, $45 non-residents. No class Feb. 15. Register by Jan. 29 and April 15.

Happy Hands for Preschoolers

Happy Hands for Preschoolers will be held 10:15-10:45 a.m. Mondays, Feb. 1-March 7 and 6:45-7:15 p.m. April 18-May 16 at the Community Center. Class for ages 2-5 years. Experience music play and American Sign Language together, while strengthening motor, social, and cognitive skills. Classes will be accompanied by guitar; representing folk, classics and originals. Theme-oriented classes will focus on preschool academics. Register by Jan. 29 and April 15. Cost $40, $45 for non-residents.

Game night

Family Game Night with Board Games will take place 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at the Community Center. Looking for something fun and exciting to do with your family? Then you should join us for a night of fun and hilarious games that the whole family can enjoy. Board game night will be a variety of games families can enjoy together, such as: Life, Pictionary, Bananas, Yahtzee, and so much more. Registration required by Feb. 4.

Handmade valentines

Spread the Love with handmade valentines 10-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Community Center. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to show someone just how much you care. Join us to create special handmade valentines for those we love. We also ask that you help us spread caring thoughts to very special children by making an extra valentine that will be delivered to the patients at the Children’s Hospital. Registration required by Feb. 4.

Pinterest Party

Pinterest Party 6:30-8 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 8 at the Community Center. If you love the popular website Pinterest this class will provide the supplies/ingredients to create a variety of the most popular “pins” including; seasonal ideas, delicious creations, as well as home décor projects. Check the parks’ Pinterest page with the board titled “Pinterest Parties 2016” to get a preview of everything we will create each month. Register for each class by the Friday morning before each class so that supplies can be purchased in advance. Class for adults. Cost $15, $20 for non-residents.

Jump, Wiggle and Shout

Jump, Wiggle and Shout will take place for ages 1-3 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Community Center. This program is all about silly wiggles and goofy babbles. Little one will have a blast movin’ and groovin’ to music while developing coordination, balance, listening skills, and gross motor skills. An adult companion must attend. Free to residents, $5 for non-resident.

Kids Activity Club

Each week the parks staff will explore a different activity such as hiking, games, photography, art, and a variety of other fun and exciting activities for youth. Space is limited. Register early.

Sessions begin Feb. 11 and go through March. Cost is $5, $10 non-residents. Registration is required. Visit the parks’ website for more information on the individual sessions. Programs are for ages 6-8.

Intro to astronomy

Speaker Series: Introduction to Astronomy will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 at the Community Center. Amateur Astronomer John Thomas will be discussing Introduction to Astronomy. The following topics will be discussed: Learning the Sky; Computers and Astronomy; Astronomy Equipment; and Using Your Astronomy Equipment Effectively. Registration is required by Feb. 12.

Little learners

Little Learners Preschool Fun will take place 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19 at the Community Center. Each Little Learners session has a different theme and following each theme we will read stories, play games and create a project all while learning about letters, shapes, helping others, responsibility and so much more. An adult companion must attend. Registration is required by Feb. 12. Program for ages 3-6. Cost free to residents, $5 for non-residents.

Zumba fitness

Zumba fitness will be offered 7 p.m. Thursdays at the Community Center. Zumba routines feature aerobic fitness with Latin inspired dance rhythms. You do not need to know how to dance to Zumba. Zumba licensed instructor is Amy Kistler. Ages 11 and up. Cost $3, $5 non-resident.
