XENIA — Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center staff, volunteers and program participants recently donated 105 pairs of flip flops to the Family Violence Prevention Center in Xenia.

According to FVPC Executive Director Debbie Matheson, the donation was an easy way to lighten the hearts of adults and children at the center.

“Often when families and individuals come in to a safe house, it is in the midst of a crisis,” a release from FVPC stated. “In this unexpected move, survivors cannot pack everything. So, providing a pair of brand new flip flops this summer will be an easy and fitting way to help supply them with a basic need. People do a lot of walking when they are putting their lives back together. Now, they can slip into a new pair of colorful flip flops and remember that their community cares.”
