Road closures

GREENE COUNTY — The Greene County Engineer has announced the following projects which are weather dependent.

The bridge on Wilberforce-Clifton Road in the Village of Clifton will be closed for approximately 60 days to replace the bridge beginning on Monday, Sept. 26. This is a revised closure date. The closure will be between Clifton Road and Water Street.

The Indian Ripple Road in Beavercreek Township will be closed for approximately one week for utility work beginning Monday, Sept. 26. The closure will be between James River Road and S. Alpha Bellbrook Road.

Safety seat inspection

BELLBROOK — The Bellbrook Fire Department is teaming up with Dayton Children’s Hospital and Safe Kids USA to hold the sixth annual Drive Thru Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection. This program is designed to ensure that all children under 8-years-old are properly restrained in the event of a motor vehicle crash. A one-on-one tutorial provided by a certified child passenger safety technician will demonstrate the proper use and installation of child restraints. This event will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, Sept. 24 at Bellbrook Fire Station #2, 4254 W. Franklin St. To schedule an appointment, call 937-848-3272. Drive thru inspections will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Appointments are encouraged.

Concert coming to opera house

JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Opera House is presenting Ryan Roth in concert 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Roth will perform the music of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, George Strait, and more. National voter registration day

GREENE COUNTY – The League of Women Voters is partnering with the Dayton Metro Libraries and Greene County Libraries to help register voters for National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Residents who need to register to vote or who need to update their registrations due to address or name change are encouraged to attend. Absentee ballot applications will also be available.

Early voting begins Oct.12 and Election Day is Nov. 8. The library will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Greene County. For additional questions about the election please contact the League of Women Voters at 937-228-4041.

PERI meeting

XENIA — The Greene County Chapter of the Public Employee Incorporated (PERI) will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 in the Multipurpose Room at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center (XARSC), 130 E. Church Street. Andy Tinkham with the Ohio Consumers Council will be the guest speaker. Come and bring a friend. All retired and working Greene County employees are welcome to attend.
