YELLOW SPRINGS — The fall season has officially commenced, which means pumpkin flavors, scents, colors and the Young’s Jersey Dairy 40th Annual Fall Farm Pumpkin Festival is among the community.

Kicking off Saturday, Oct. 1 until Sunday, Oct. 2, the pumpkin festival will offer fall foods, including pumpkin cinnamon donut holes and caramel apples, as well as family-friendly activities, such as pumpkin bowling, tours of the Young’s facility and cow-milking demonstrations, among others.

The Cowvin’s Corny Maze, open 11 a.m.-6 p.m., will offer an opportunity to get lost among the corn stalks. If attendees prefer to be found, they can watch caramel apples and pumpkin donut holes be created during the same times.

Pumpkin painting will be offered noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and starting 1 p.m. each day of the festival, attendees can observe cow-milking demonstrations up to four times each hour.

For attendees who feel like testing their strength, releasing tension or simply watching pumpkins get thrown into the air, Young’s will offer them the opportunity to use its human powered pumpkin launcher from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Young’s Farmstead cheese samples will be offered throughout the festival, and tours of the facility will take place 12:30, 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The event will take place 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2 rain or shine at Young’s Jersey Dairy, 6880 Springfield-Xenia Road. Vehicles will be parked across the street from the main entrance.
