WU state of the university address
WILBERFORCE — Wilberforce University president Dr. Herman J. Felton Jr., will deliver his first state of the university address, 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Alumni Multiplex. The event is open to the public.
What does DAR mean to historians?
XENIA — Linda Lee of the Catherine Greene chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will discuss “What DAR membership can mean to Family Historians” during the Ohio Genealogical Society meeting 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Xenia Community Library. Lee will explain membership requirements for joining this lineage society and how their records can help. The library is at 76 E. Market St., and is free and open to the public. Data Board meeting
XENIA — The Greene County Data Board will meet on Monday, November 7 at 8:30 a.m. in the Greene County Auditor’s Conference Room, second floor, 69 Greene Street.
XARSC annual veterans dinner
XENIA — The Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center is having its annual veterans dinner 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7. Doors open 4:30 p.m. The cost is $7 for non-veterans and free for veterans. Reservations for veterans and non-veterans are required by Oct. 31. Stop by XARSC at 130 E. Church St. to get a ticket or call 937-376-4353 to make a reservation.
Commissioners’ special work session
XENIA — The Greene County Board of Commissioners will hold a special work session on Tuesday, Nov. 8, beginning at 9 a.m. at the County Commissioners’ Offices, 35 Greene Street. The board will review the 2017 budget for the county. The meeting is open to the public.
Cork & Canvas
XENIA — Xenia Area Community Theater is holding Cork & Canvas 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Caesar Creek Vineyards in Xenia. No painting experience is necessary and all supplies will be provided. The $25 cost includes a glass of wine plus a pre-sketched canvas, paints and snacks. For more information, call 937-372-0516. Free pie for vets
XENIA — Hospitality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing will offer free homemade pie to veterans on Veterans Day, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. The facility is at 1301 N. Monroe Dr., Xenia.
CATS Public Transit meeting
XENIA — The Greene County Transit Board (Greene CATS Public Transit) will hold a Public Participation Meeting to present changes to its Flex Routes. The meeting will include a review of the proposed changes recommended to the Transit Board for approval by the Greene County Transit Board’s Program and Services Committee at its Sept. 28 meeting. The public participation meeting will be held 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 in the Greene CATS Office, 2380 Bellbrook Ave.
The public can also review the Flex Route Proposal at the Greene CATS Office during regular business hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Monday. Comments may be submitted in writing to the address listed above or via e-mail at [email protected] by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22. Career Center holiday bazaar
XENIA — Greene County Career Center’s SkillsUSA chapter will host a holiday bazaar 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. SkillsUSA is a career-technical student organization that provides students with leadership, networking and competition opportunities at the local, regional, state and national levels. The bazaar will include vendors from Avon, Skyblue Pink Vintage, Scentsy, LulaRoe, Origami Owl, Pampered Chef and much more at 2960 West Enon Road.
