DAYTON — Dayton Mall and the Mall at Fairfield Commons invite shoppers to start the season with 23 gift-giving hours of shopping during Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Providing early bird shoppers with a head start, both centers will open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 and again, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Black Friday, Nov. 25. Select retailers will remain open from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. at both centers. Extended hours will continue throughout the holiday shopping season.

“Our extended holiday hours and popular selection of retailers at each center continue to meet shopper demand,” said Shelley Sloan, regional marketing manager at Washington Prime Group. “In addition, the variety of traditional events paired with other holiday happenings will make the centers even more appealing for friends and family to shop, dine and spend time together this holiday season.”

According to the National Retail Federation, sales in November and December are expected to increase a solid 3.6 percent to $655.8 billion — significantly higher than the 10-year average of 2.5 percent. The 2015 holiday season rang up a hefty $626.1 billion in US sales, 3 percent more than the previous year.

As part of the Dayton Mall and the Mall at Fairfield Commons’ holiday plans, families can grab a photo with Santa now through Christmas Eve, as well as enjoy many festive events throughout the holiday season.
