Beavercreek Women’s League meeting
BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Women’s League will hold its monthly meeting Jan. 4 at Peace Lutheran Church. The meeting will feature a panel of experts for a discussion about education’s hot topics for 2017.
Genealogy informational session
XENIA — Have genealogy questions? Stuck on your family research and don’t know where to go next? Join the Greene County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Xenia Public Library for “Ask the Experts.” The session will have a panel of experienced genealogical researchers to help you find your ancestors. The event will also include a brief tour of the Greene County Room to show you what resources are available for your research right in Greene County. Commissioners re-organizational meeting
XENIA — The Greene County Board of Commissioners will hold its annual re-organizational meeting, pursuant to ORC 305.05, at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at the Board’s Offices, 35 Greene Street. At this meeting, the board will elect a president and vice-president, each for a one year term, set regular meeting days and time, and appoint members of the board to various boards and committees. The meeting is open to the public.
Library board meeting
XENIA — The Board of Trustees of the Greene County Public Library system will hold its next regular meeting at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at the Xenia Community Library, 76 East Market Street. The Library Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month, except during the month of August when there is no meeting. The Greene County Public Library system is available on the Internet at www.greenelibrary.info. The library system consists of seven locations: Beavercreek, Jamestown, Cedarville, Fairborn, Yellow Springs, Xenia and Bellbrook.
Greeneview school board meeting
JAMESTOWN — The Greeneview Local School District Board of Education will hold the annual budget hearing 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 followed by the organizational and regular meeting 7:00 p.m. The meetings are held at the Board Office, 4 S. Charleston Rd, Jamestown.
Zoning commission
SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley Township Zoning Commission has scheduled work sessions for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10, April 4, July 11 and Oct. 3, 2017. The work sessions will be held at the Spring Valley Township Office, 2547 US 42 South, The purpose of the work sessions are to discuss zoning issues.
Volunteers sought
XENIA — The Xenia Food Pantry needs volunteers. The volunteers work one time per month, a shift is three and half hours in length and is either in the morning or afternoon. There is no heavy lifting involved in any of the three positions. To help the Pantry call 937-372-8441 and leave name, telephone number, and the someone will be in contact. A further explanation of the positions will be given at that time. The pantry is located on Ledbetter Road behind the county building.
