First Fridays seeking volunteers for 2017

0

XENIA — First Fridays, the family friendly community event held the first Friday May-July in downtown Xenia, is recruiting volunteers for its 2017 season.

Event dates this year are 5-9 p.m.May 5, June 2, and July 7.

Organizers are looking for three volunteers for the positions of vendor coordinator, sponsorship coordinator and silent auction coordinator. These individuals should be goal-oriented, have great attention to detail, excellent phone manners and work in a professional manner.

“Volunteers make invaluable contributions to our events and it is only with this support that makes the events possible,” said First Fridays co-coordinator Blair Davis. “Volunteering is a chance to meet and work with like-minded people, be part of the team, and enjoy the unique festival atmosphere.”

There are several other opportunities that cater to a wide range of ability levels, including staffing the First Fridays Information Booth, being a floating friend walking the festival helping to ensure things run smoothly, and site operations crew that assist with set-up, clean-up, or running attractions. Volunteers work in shifts, and in most cases teams or pairs, so that they still have the opportunity to enjoy the festival themselves. All volunteers will be trained prior to starting and receive support during each event from committee members and staff. Dress is casual and volunteers will be provided with First Fridays T-shirts to wear.

Applications, as well as a complete list of volunteer opportunities and job descriptions for each, can be found at xeniafirstfridays.com. For more information, email [email protected]
