XENIA — The City of Xenia is set to kick-off its Neighborhood Night Out series 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 at Shawnee Elementary School, 92 Ankeney Mill Road.

Neighborhood Night Out is an outdoor information program spearheaded by Xenia allowing city administrators and vital community partners to casually interact with Xenia residents in various neighborhoods.

“We look forward to hearing from residents … ,” said City Manager Brent Merriman. “We will share updates about things going on in the city overall and hope to hear directly from residents about any concerns they may have in their immediate neighborhoods.”

In addition to Xenia Community Schools, Greene Memorial Hospital, the Charles Young Buffalo Soldier National Monument, Kroger, Xenia Bouncy Castle, Central State University, and OhioMeansJobs-Greene County will join the partnership this year and will be on-site to share job information with job seekers.

Future Neighborhood Night Out events are scheduled for Tuesday, June 13 at Doug Adams Stadium, Tuesday, Aug. 29 at Old East High School, and Tuesday, Sept. 26 at McKinley Elementary School.

Hot dogs and snacks will be available, along with music and fun for kids. A raindate of April 11 has been set for the Shawnee Elementary Neighborhood Night Out.
