FAIRBORN — Due to forecast thunderstorms, the grand opening of “Hawk’s Woodland Walk,” a nature literature trail, has been rescheduled. The event will now be held at Valle View Reserve 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 6.
Fairborn Parks Foundation, Fairborn Parks and Recreation Division, Greene County Library Foundation and the Fairborn Community Library worked together to create the nature literature trail. Head librarian of the Fairborn Community Library Ann Cooper authored the panels of the literature trail, which detail the local wildlife found in the park.
The goal of the project is to expose children to nature and literature.
Valle View Reserve’s walking path is located at 1097 Empire Court behind Fifth Third Bank off Commerce Center Boulevard. A commencement hike along the trail will take place at 10 a.m. Crafts, games and refreshments will also be provided afterward.
