XENIA — The recovery community in Greene County will host a fundraiser Run 4 Recovery, 9 a.m. Saturday, June 24 at Xenia Station, 150 S. Miami.

Every day there are more overdose deaths with fentanyl is flooding streets – tearing families apart. Alcoholism devastates communities. There is hope — millions of people are living in long-term recovery from drugs and addiction — leading happy, full and productive lives.

People in recovery represent all facets of society, and in today’s day and age and the Greene County recovery community is hosting a walk/run to help raise money to help the essential organizations that asssist those impacted by drugs and alochol

The Hope Spot of Greene County is partnering with RecoveryPlus Community Resource Center and Sober Lotus Recovery Housing to conduct the 5K run/walk for the entire family. There will be a variety of fun, prizes, awards, resources and giveaways.

“The hopes for this event are to raise awareness that there is a solution to this problem and by doing so this is the first step to the harm reduction to our community,” said Jeff Moore, a co-organizer of the event and long-term member of the recovery community.

The Hope Spot Executive Director Amy Pulver said, “Greene County is blessed to have such a passionate recovery community. People who are doing more than talking about the problem. Sober Lotus Recovery Housing has a mission of establishing stable housing for women in recovery, RecoveryPlus is trying to open a facility in Fairborn to help people find treatment resources needed much like what we do here in Xenia at The Hope Spot.”
