XENIA — A free event was held at Shawnee Park July 22 with a goal of raising money to help fight heroin addiction.
Be The Change 2017 featured music, food, and fun and although it was free, organizers accepted donations which went to The Christopher House and the Women’s Recovery Center.
In addition to the music, there were guest speakers and presentations by local organizations.
According to the event’s Facebook page, “We have all lost someone to heroin, family member or friend, and families are left devastated. This is something that effects so many communities all over this nation, my goal with this is to bring us all together to show that we can join forces to confront this epidemic! Come out and let’s bring this city together as we battle this poison that has flooded our community!”
