XENIA — Greene County Council on Aging (GCCOA) will host Homemade Treats and Jam Fest 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 at Xenia Community Center, 1265 W. Second Street.

The festival will feature family fun games, refreshments, music by local oldies band The Hoppers, auctions and of course — jam.

The Old Country Store will sell jars of strawberry, blueberry, mixed berry jam and orange marmalade. Additionally available will be breads, rolls, cookies and pies.

A Cloud Racing Tournament will begin at 4:45 p.m. with a play-by-play announced by Paul Newman Jr.

The homemade treats and jam auction will start at 5:30 p.m. with auctioneer Lee Duteil and Ed Marrinan.

Items sold during the live auction will include apple, bourbon pecan and cherry pies; carrot cake, Oreo cake and cheesecake; candies like buckeyes, fudge, caramel, and pecan brittle; and baskets with breads and jams.

A silent auction and 50/50 raffle will also take place during the festivities.

Tickets are $10, available for early pickup at the council office, 1195 W. Second Street, county senior centers and at the door.

All proceeds will benefit senior and caregiver services.
