XENIA — The Hurricane Harvey Day of Giving will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at Xenia Church of Christ, 444 Country Club Drive in Xenia.

“If there’s one thing Xenians know it’s destructive storms and their effects. We received much-needed help when we had need and now it’s our turn to help those in need in Texas,” said church officials in a press release.

In partnership with Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team, which is on the ground in South Texas, Xenia Church of Chirs is collecting more needed items for them to distribute. The building will be a donation site for Xenia and Greene County.

Here are the items that are needed most: gift cards – Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot etc., mosquito repellent, plastic totes with lids, new underwear of all sizes, heavy duty rubber boots and gloves, diapers of all sizes and baby wipes.

Please bring any of these items to the church. Financial donations may be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Response Team by visiting their website at www.churchesofchristdrt.org.

For more information contact Chuck Forsythe with XCC at 937-372-8919 or Jeff Felzien with DRT at 937-568-1447.
