BEAVERCREEK — The annual Beavercreek Popcorn Festival will be held this weekend, Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10 in front of the Beavercreek Plaza, located at Dayton-Xenia Road between Fairfield and Meadow Bridge.

The festival kicks off 8:15 a.m. Saturday with the Goddard School Kids Fun Run. Kids ages 10 and under will run in an obstacle course which will conclude prior to the start of the adult 5K run/walk. Packet pickup and race day registration will be available at 7:30 a.m. in Shoup Park, 1341 Meadowbridge Drive. Awards will be presented 10 a.m. on the festival main stage.

The grand opening of the festival is 10 a.m., with the events ending at 8 p.m.

Registration for the Popcorn Festival Car Show is from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday. The show is held in Shoup Park and cost is $10 at the gate and will include a Popcorn Festival Car Show dash plaque given to the first 100 cars registered.

This year’s show will include an all-open class, cruise-in type show with three main categories: classic, contemporary and class of 1967 50th anniversary. Awards will begin at 3:30 p.m. The car show will end at 4 p.m.

Festival hours Sunday are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Vendors from around the region will be present with over 200 booths featuring crafts, foods, services, and organizations. Craft vendors range from handmade jewelry and henna tattoos to essential oils and rag quilts. Food vendors will feature fresh donuts, cheese coneys, cider slushies and lots of popcorn — caramel popcorn, kettle corn, tropical fruit popcorn, and popcorn balls.
