First Road to Recovery 5K to be held

XENIA — Greene County behavioral health agencies are hosting the first Greene County Road to Recovery 5K at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

The event is a combined effort between the Mental Health Recovery Board of Clark, Greene and Madison Counties; TCN; Greene Leaf; Woodhaven and Women’s Recovery Center to establish a fund to directly assist Greene County individuals and families new in recovery.

Packet pickup begins at 8:30 a.m. at Shawnee Park, N. Park Drive on the day of the event. Participants can pre-register and pay online at www.speedy-feet.com or mail in a registration form and payment. Registration is $25.

The race begins and ends at Shawnee Park and includes a large 3.1 mile loop in a residential setting. Chip timing will be done by Speedy-Feet and traffic will be restricted during the race. Strollers and dogs are welcome.

Refreshments will be provided at the finish line and various representatives will speak. Awards will be given out at 10:30 a.m. for the top overall male and female and first, second and third place in each age group.
