Three incumbents retain Jamestown council seats

JAMESTOWN — Three Jamestown Village Council members retained their seats according to unofficial results from the Nov. 7 election.

Anita Chaney, Leslie E. Cox and Jeannie Sargent were among the top four, while challenger Jonathan Crosswhite was also elected

Chaney had 192 votes, Sargent 182, Crosswhite 155, and Cox 149.

Jeffrey Tudor received 114 votes, Joel A. Armlovich 101 votes, Michael L. Williams 91 and Brian Gale 78.

The race could be subject to a recount due to the small percentage between candidates.

Only one candidate returned a pre-election questionnaire — Williams. He indicated he wanted to once again make Jamestown a thriving community.

“I would like to work to bring more businesses into the village,” he said. “We can encourage new small businesses in the community by helping them find grants to get started. We could also look into offering other incentives for businesses getting started in Jamestown. I would also like to review the village ordinances to make sure they are up to date and that they are friendly to small businesses.”
