XENIA — The Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority was recently awarded a “high performer” rating by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The rating comes in relation to the program’s Housing Choice Voucher program.

The Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) measures the performance of the public housing agencies (PHAs) that administer the Housing Choice Voucher program in 14 areas. SEMAP helps HUD target monitoring and assistance to PHA programs that need the most improvement.

“GMHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program staff works throughout the year to ensure compliance with SEMAP’s 14 indicators,” Brenda Smallwood, GMHA’s Executive Director stated in a release. “Accomplishing this goal of High Performer rating, is a reflection of the hard work and dedication that our staff at GMHA has to providing excellent customer service to our participants and landlords, and to being fiscally responsible with the funding that is entrusted to GMHA.”

According to a release from the GMHA, it received all of the 130 available points in the assessment.

GMHA administers more than 1,400 Housing Choice Vouchers throughout Greene County.
