Local students among spring graduates

HAYS, Kansas — Local and area students from Ohio are among the 2,409 who completed associate, bachelor’s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan., in the spring 2018 semester. Fairborn residents Lisa E. Beaty, a bachelor of business administration in management information systems; Kelli C. Hall, a bachelor of science in criminal justice and Bethany Sellers, a bachelor of science in nursing received degrees.

McCraw graduates

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Casey McCraw of Fairborn is among Southeast Missouri State University’s spring 2018 graduates. McCraw graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in nursing with a major in nursing.

Nielsen named to list

FRONT ROYAL, Va. — Audrey Nielsen of Beavercreek, a sixth grader at Randolph-Macon Academy, earned a place on the principal’s list for the fourth quarter of the 2017-18 school year. Only students who achieve a GPA of 3.5-3.99 at Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School (grades 6-8) are named to the principal’s list. Nielsen is the daughter of Amy Nielsen and Kevin Nielsen of Beavercreek.

Sendelbach studies in the Amazon

OXFORD — Cailin Sendelbach of Beavercreek a current master’s student in the Global Field Program (GFP) from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly, has recently traveled to the Amazon. Sendelbach studied avian and tropical rainforest ecology. Sendelbach works as a teacher at Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools.

Project Dragonfly’s Earth Expeditions graduate courses have engaged more than 3,000 people in firsthand educational and scientific research at critical conservation field sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas.

WC named to dean’s list

WHEATON, Ill. — The following Wheaton College students from your coverage area were named to the spring 2018 dean’s list. Dean’s list honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale. Conner Imbody of Beavercreek received that honor.

MSJU honors

CINCINNATI — Mount St. Joseph University recognizes the students recently named to the spring 2018 dean’s list. The dean’s list recognizes undergraduate students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in six hours or more of course work for a letter grade Lauren Casey of Beavercreek is a junior in the field of biology, Luke Danis of Yellow Springs is a sophomore in the field of criminology and Collin Matt of Jamestown is a sophomore in the field of special education.

Honor’s list

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Mount Mary University Spring 2017 Dean’s List was released. Kaylie R. Cook received this honor and is studying social work. She is a Fairborn High School graduate.

The dean’s list honors full-time students who have earned a 3.6 GPA or better while taking 12 or more credits during the recent semester. Part-time students are eligible for the Dean’s List when they have earned a 3.6 GPA or better while completing at least 8 credits.
