Goldick Wildlife Officer of the Year

COLUMBUS — Brian Goldick, Wildlife Officer Supervisor District 5 Xenia, was named the Association of Midwest Fish and Game Law Enforcement Officers, officer of the year.

Officer Goldick currently serves as a Wildlife Officer Supervisor with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. Officer Goldick is responsible for directing the field operations of wildlife officers in five southwest Ohio Counties, based out of the District Five Headquarters in Xenia.

Officer Goldick has served the State of Ohio for 18 years. Officer Goldick started his law enforcement career with the Division of Wildlife in 1999 after graduating from 21st Wildlife Officer Training Academy. Upon graduation, his first assignment was the Wildlife Officer assigned to Preble County before being promoted to his current supervisory position in 2009. Officer Goldick is a very well respected veteran officer with a long record of leadership. He served as the acting District 5 Manager for southwest Ohio for approximately one year.

As a member of the Firearms/Defensive Tactics Training Unit, he is a lead instructor in defensive tactics, scenario training and the hooded box drill which has greatly benefited the wildlife officer workforce. He is also a special deputy and law enforcement trainer for the Preble County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Goldick instructs in the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academies at Butler Tech and the Greene County Career Center. Away from his wildlife officer duties, he enjoys hunting deer and travelling to the western United States to pursue elk. He is married and operates a farm in Preble County.
