Cheng graduates

ALBANY, N.Y. — University of Albany announced that Yu-Ching Cheng of Bellbrook who graduated with a doctor of philosophy in sociology with the class of 2018.

Audrey Nielsen Named to the Principal’s at Randolph-Macon Academy for the 2017-18 Academic Year

Local receives award

FRONT ROYAL , Va. — Audrey Nielsen of Beavercreek a sixth grader at Randolph-Macon Academy, received the Principal’s Academic Award for being named to the principal’s list during every quarter of the year. Only students who achieve a GPA of 4.0 or higher at Randolph-Macon Academy (grades 6-12) are named to the president’s list and only students who achieve a GPA of 3.5 to 3.9 are named to the principal’s list.

Nielson is the daughter of Amy Nielsen and Kevin Nielsen of Beavercreek.

St. Mary’s Dean’s List

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Margaret Hemmert of Beavercreek has been named to the Saint Mary’s College Dean’s List for the Spring 2018 semester.

To earn academic honors at Saint Mary’s, a student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have at least 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes, and no grades lower than a C.

Local graduates

MADISON, Wis. — Nearly 7,500 students received degrees during the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s spring commencement ceremonies. Joseph Menningsen of Beavercreek earned a doctor of medicine from the School of Medicine and Public Health.
