BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek High School was evacuated Thursday afternoon in response to a threat called into the school. Police were on the scene Thursday afternoon investigating the threat, according to Beavercreek schools spokesman Ryan Gilding.

Students were dismissed from the school during the afternoon and were not allowed back in the building.

“When police deem that it is safe to return to the building, another message will be sent to parents … so that students can go back into the building and get their belongings …” Gilding said. “But as of right now (Thursday afternoon) police are still investigating and no one is allowed to go inside.”

All Beavercreek High School sports practices and home and away events were canceled Thursday evening, according to the school’s athletics Twitter account.

Gilding declined to specify the nature of the threat called into the school.
