Xenia Lions Club crowns the VOICE

XENIA — Lydia Webb of Xenia was crowned the winner of the Xenia VOICE during the final round Sept. 29.

Produced by the Xenia Lions Club, the event was created by the Xenia Lions to promote wholesome activities for Xenia area teens. Contestants had to advance through an audition round in which 10 were selected for the finals.

As the winner, Webb, 16, received a $500 cash prize. Raegan Rigmaiden, 13, of Xenia, was second and received $300. Jaclyn Lamb, 14, of Xenia, was third and received $200.

Winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place all received cash prizes of $500, $300, and $200 respectively.

Judges for the event were Shery Snell, Carla Smith, and David Noble. Judges were selected for their knowledge of music theory, vocal training, choir and performing music. The video of final-round performances are available on the Xenia Lions Facebook page.

Sponsors of the event were Best DJ’s, the Jamestown Lions Club, Kelly Jones Nationwide Insurance, Labig Chiropractic and Nutrition, LaNeva’s Pure Styles, Narrow Path Plumbing, and Thad Camp State Farm. Semifinalists were awarded free pizza from Cassano’s Pizza, Donatos Pizza and Papa John’s pizza shops.
