XENIA — The Cedarville Opera House will hosts its annual Battle of the Bands 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

All ages of performers and genres of music are encouraged to get involved. There is no fee to sign up, and entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The competition is limited to the first six to register.

Each band will be allowed to perform three songs (total time 15 minutes maximum). At the conclusion of the concert, voting will take place by text messaging, so concertgoers should be sure to bring their mobile phones.

Band members will want to invite their friends to come and support them with their votes. The band which wins first place will get to have a concert at the opera house in January and will also receive half of the money from ticket sales at the January concert.

In addition, the second-place winner will get to be the opening band for the January concert. Tickets for Battle of the Bands are $8 (cash or credit card) and will be available at the door.
