Local libraries announce programs

GREENE COUNTY — The Greene County Community Libraries will hold a variety of programs for the month of November. Some programs require registration contact the local library to register. The following library programs are planned:

Bellbrook

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library is located at 57 W. Franklin St. To register for programs call 937-352-4004.

Writing Workshop: Sharpening Your Story, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Share your writing with others as well as discuss the joys and challenges of composing text. This session will generate more advanced writing techniques and allow for further creativity to blossom. Registration required.

Teen Book Club, 4:30-5:30p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Discussing the best and worst books in YA literature. Snacks are provided.

Books & Babies/Baby Story Time for ages 6-24 months, 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 15, 29. Stories, music and early literacy activities.

Bookmarkers Book Club for Grade 2, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. Reading and talking about books while working on early reading activities.

Cluein’ and Chewin’ Book Club for adults, 6:15-7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. Mystery book club. Registration required.

Tuesday Crochet & Knit Group for adults, 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 20, 27. Bring a project and join us for craft and conversation.

Wednesday Morning Story Time for ages 2-4, 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, 21, 28. Stories, music, and crafts.

Cedarville

Cedarville Community Library is located at 20 S. Miller St. To register for programs call 937-352-4006.

After School Fun for ages 6-11, 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. After school activities which include games and crafts.

Teen Night for ages 12-18, 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Play board games and hang out with friends. There will be snacks.

DIY Storytelling Glove for adults, 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Learn how to create a storytelling glove that will enhance at-home or in-classroom story times.

Cedarville Friends of the Library Meeting for adults, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Story Time for ages 0-5 with adult, 10:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 21, 28. Enjoy stories, finger-plays, and other activities.

Jamestown

Jamestown Community Library is located at 86 Seaman Drive. To register for programs call 937-352-4005.

Fifth & Sixth Grade Book Club, 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Snacks provided.

DIY Body Cream for adults, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. Learn to make a hand cream that is ulta-moisturizing for that dry winter weather. All materials provided. Registration required.

Jamestown Writing Group: NaNoWriMo for adults, 1-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12. This month, we will be working with National Novel Writing Month.

Crafters Night Out for adults, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 20, 27. Drop in the library and join other crafters as they work on various projects, from knitting to scrapbooking.

Read Between the Wines Book Discussion for adults, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 will be held at Caesar Creek Vineyards, 962 Long Road.

Yellow Springs

Yellow Springs Community Library is located at 415 Xenia Ave. To register for programs call 937-352-4003.

Paws to Read, 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Read to and visit with our four-legged friends. All participating pets are certified with the Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association.

Taste of Mystery Book Discussion: Snow White Red Handed by Maia Chance for adults, 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8.

Preschool Story Time, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 16, 30. Join Ms. Janet for fun with stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft.

NaNoWriMo for ages adults, 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 19, 26. November is National Novel Writing Month. Get started on your oeuvre at the library. A quiet space, computers, wireless, coffee, and snacks.

Bookish Games & More for ages 6 and up, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. Have a snack and maybe take home some prizes.

Greeting Cards that Glow for adults, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. Make holiday greeting cards that dazzle. Learn how to make light-up electronic greeting cards. Registration required.

Baby Song & Rhyme Time, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 28. Songs, simple stories, and rhymes to enjoy with your little ones.

Craft Night ﹘ Wire Bird’s Nest Pendant for adults, 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. Yellow Springs Artist JoAnn McKee will show you how to make Wire Bird’s Nest Pendant. All supplies are provided. Registration required.

Tweens Read Book Club for grades 4-6, 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. Tweens Read: The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt.
