Dayton VA to open food pantry for vets

DAYTON — The Dayton VA Medical Center in partnership with the Dayton Foodbank will open a food pantry for Veterans in need 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The event will be located at the Dayton VA Medical Center campus inside building 305. The purpose of this event is to address hunger within the Veteran community.

Veterans do not have to be currently enrolled with the VA to take advantage of this service. Additional dates of food pantry operation are Nov. 27, Dec. 11 and 18, Jan. 8 and 22.

Veterans are advised to bring a photo ID and a copy of their DD-214 to utilize the food pantry. Need is determined by income guidelines set by the Dayton Foodbank.
