WILBERFORCE — Central State University will be making a major leadership announcement at 10 a.m. Friday.

According to a release from the school, outgoing President Dr. Cynthia Jackson-Hammond; Ronald Todd, Gov. Mike DeWine’s minority affairs liaison; Ohio Chancellor Randy Gardner; and Mark Hatcher, chairman of the CSU board of trustees, will be present at the event, which will take place in the University Student Center Ballroom.

The university is in the midst of searching for a replacement for Jackson-Hammond, who announced in September she would retire at the end of the school year.

The media advisory did not indicate what today’s announcement was for but Central State is no longer listed under open searches on the website of Academic Search, was was aiding the university in its presidential search.

Jackson-Hammond is in her eighth year leading CSU and oversaw the university becoming an 1890 Land-Grant University in addition to the construction of a new residence hall, new University Student Center, complete renovation of Emery Hall, and more than $3 million in annual scholarship allocations.
