XENIA — Fall is in the air — or will be Saturday, Oct. 16, when Xenia welcomes visitors to its first Harvest on Main event. The outdoor festival will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Main Street, which will be closed to traffic from Columbus to Church streets.

According to Christina Schaefer, public relations coordinator, East Main will feature roughly 50 vendors, while West Main Street will feature a variety of activities including children’s activities (face-painting, pumpkin decorating, games, and a straw maze), and a small farmer’s market. “Halloween Boulevard” will feature Halloween-themed booths/vendors along the west side of the sidewalk on South Detroit.

“There will also be a photo booth area featuring antique tractors, a small petting zoo, and a pie-eating contest that starts at 4 p.m.,”said Schaefer, who added that there will be a selection of food trucks in the Towne Square parking lot.

“The city is excited for this new events tradition,” Schaefer said. “Harvest on Main will be one of the quarterly activities the city will host in the downtown area. Visitors can expect to find a variety of fall fun that will entertain the whole family and showcase our local businesses and organizations.”
