FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Lions Club served as a sponsor to the Fairborn Christmas Project for the third year.

The Lions, along with 31 sponsors and 38 donors, supported more than 465 registered families. Of these, 150 families were sponsored by 14 individuals, 11 organizations and seven churches. Those families that didn’t get sponsored were given food vouchers to be used as cash at the Fairborn Save-a-Lot and Kroger stores.

The 465 families represented more than 1,256 individuals.

In addition, Fairborn Lions Club President Fred Pumroy and food pantry volunteers collected and delivered 2,459 usable cans of food to the Fairborn Food Pantry (FISH) Dec. 10 that will be given to families in need. The food was donated by the Bellbrook ROTC Cadets, which has become a cooperation between the two cities each year to feed those in need.

Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill them. For more information or to get involved with the Fairborn Lions Club, contact Pumroy at 937-609-8112 or [email protected].
