Library board meeting
YELLOW SPRINGS — The Board of Trustees of the Greene County Public Library system will hold its next regular meeting 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Yellow Springs Community Library, 415 Xenia Ave. The Library Board meets on the second Wednesday of each month, except during the month of August when there is no meeting.
YELLOW SPRINGS — Trainers from PreventionFIRST! will provide a Prevention 101/Parenting for Prevention workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, April 15. The training session will be held at the Greene County Educational Service Center, 360 E. Enon Road, Yellow Springs. PreventionFIRST! is an organization focused on substance abuse prevention and the development of community-based coalitions. JAMESTOWN — The Greeneview board of education will hold a regular board meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the board offices, 4 S. Charleston Road.
BELLBROOK — Sugar Maple Festival is scheduled for April 22-24. Volunteers are needed for the event contact 877-522-5995 for more information or to volunteer.
XENIA — The Greene County Chapter of the Public Employee Incorporated will meat at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 in the Multipurpose Room at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center, 130 E. Church Street. Peggy Coggins with the Miami Valley Hospice will be our guest speaker.
Searching for individuals
BELLBROOK — The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District is participating in an effort to identify and local all individuals from age 3-21 who may have disabilities within the district. For more information contact Tonya Wilson, Special Education Director at 937-848-6251.
XENIA — The Greene County Park District will hold its monthly meetings the second Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at Greene County Parks & Trails agency headquarters, 575 Ledbetter Road. For more information about Greene County Parks & Trails, call 937-562-6440 or go to www.gcparkstrails.com.
XENIA — The Greene Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold its monthly board meetings on the third Thursday of each month at the District’s office, 1363 Burnett Drive. The meetings are open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m. For additional information call the district office at 937-372-4478.
XENIA — The Xenia Food Pantry needs volunteers. The volunteers work one time per month, a shift is three and half hours in length and is either in the morning or afternoon. There is no heavy lifting involved in any of the three positions. To help the Pantry call 937-372-8441 and leave name, telephone number, and the someone will be in contact. A further explanation of the positions will be given at that time. The Pantry is located on Ledbetter Road behind the county building.
