NEW JASPER TOWNSHIP — The Back 40 4-H Club needed some help with its rope project and New Jasper Fire Department members Ben Shideler and Garrett Sagraves stepped up to give a very informative demonstration on rope.
Shideler and Sagraves went over the importance of being able to secure knots and hitches and how they use these life skills on the fire department. They demonstrated pulleys and explained the work strength and breaking strength of rope.
The 4-H members got up close and personal with the trucks and got a lot of hands-on experience working with ropes. The information taught will help the club members complete their project work.
