Boil advisory issued in Sugarcreek Township

SUGARCREEK TOWNSHIP — A water boil advisory has been issued for select homes in Sugarcreek Township following a broken water main.

The advisory was issued Tuesday afternoon for the following homes: 2760-2965 Ferry Road and 3820 Centerville Road.

According to a release from Greene County Sanitary Engineering, “While there is little chance of contamination, the boil water advisory is issued as a precautionary measure.”

Sanitary Engineering recommends that water be boiled for one minute before drinking or cooking use. There is no harm in bathing or washing clothes in the water, according to the release.

The advisory will remain in place until samples indicate that the water is not contaminated. Generally, such an advisory will be lifted within 48 hours, according to the release.
