Gazette News Report

XENIA — Memorial United Presbyterian Church recently held a steak and chicken dinner sponsored by its Outreach and Mission team.

All proceeds raised by the meal will go to the X-Out Hunger Backpack program for Xenia schools. The X-out Hunger Endowment Program was developed by a group of volunteers and is a part of the Greene County Community Foundation. The program helps ensure that at-risk Xenia students will have food to eat during the weekend.

MUPC has committed to making this a part of its monthly giving. The adult Sunday school classes take up a donation at the beginning of each month for the program.

X-Out Hunger takes food and monetary donations. For more information, visit the City of Xenia website, its Facebook page, its public service TV station or contact Jeanne Mills at 937-372-7601, ext. 14. All donations are tax deductible.
