Gospel Concert at First Nazarene Church

XENIA — First Church of the Nazarene will present Lindsay Huggins in concert 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. Huggins is a worship leader and gospel recording artist from Nashville, Tenn.

According to Associate Pastor Mike Hancock, “Lindsay’s music mirrors her personality. It is vivacious, joyful, and relentlessly enthusiastic. She has an uncanny ability to speak with honesty and vulnerability about life as it is. And her music points the audience to life as it should be.”

Originally from Georgia, Huggins earned a degree in Music Business from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, where she sang in the school’s contemporary vocal ensemble New Direction. She spent five years working for country music superstar Reba McEntire.

Huggins said, “I had the unique opportunity to study Reba’s process as she selected songs and marketed her fashion line and her home décor line. Talk about someone who has done it all! It was an amazing experience and a dream come true for someone like me who wanted to be involved with the music industry. She has a great team, and it was wonderful to watch how she and her husband, Narvel, worked together. It was a great model for my husband Craig and me.”

She left Reba’s organization when she felt called to launch her own ministry, a move she says Reba supported. Lindsay even had the opportunity to record a song Reba passed on. “God Whispers” became Lindsay’s debut radio single, generating enthusiastic responses from radio audiences and charting on the Singing News’ prestigious Top 80 chart.

She holds a song evangelist commission with the Church of the Nazarene and travels extensively ministering in churches and concert venues. She has become a popular minister at revival services, ladies retreats, and senior adult events. She enjoys life on the road and at home with Craig and their children Tanner and Eliza.

“We are excited to have Lindsay for this Wednesday evening concert on April 18 in our sanctuary,” says Pastor Hancock. “She will also be our guest for our WOW Factor monthly luncheon on Thursday, April 19, at 11:30 in the Fireside Room. We hope our friends of the Xenia community will feel welcome to attend and enjoy her ministry in music.”

Mark Atherton is the senior pastor and Clay Sell is the director of worship ministries at Xenia Nazarene. Pastor Hancock directs the WOW Factor (Wealth of Wisdom) senior adult ministries of the church.

Xenia Nazarene Church will celebrate its 100th Anniversary with special events and services in September of this year. The church is located at 1204 W. Second St.
