SPRING VALLEY – Born in Spring Valley in 1875, he lived his entire life in that community. He opened a grocery business in March of 1802, which he owned and operated in the center of town for nearly 50 years. When the Spring Valley Bank was in operation, he served as a director for several years, then I 1940, when the bank was re-organized, was selected to become vice-president of the bank. He also served in the Spring Valley School Board, and was active in his home town. He died in 1941, and is buried in the Spring Valley Cemetery.
