Jeb’s presidential announcement

0

I had not planned on commenting about ANY candidate for president of any persuasion until the primary season was concluded and the nominees for both major political parties chosen. However: Monday, June 15, 2015 at 4 p.m. eastern time, was an occasion that caused me to abandon that posture.

Former Governor Jeb Bush of Florida hit a “grand slam home run” as he officially announced his candidacy for President of the United States. With all due respect to our own Governor John Kasich, whom I greatly admire, Jeb Bush presented a clear, direct, and visionary concept that enhanced his standing, not only in the GOP field, but for all America to consider and evaluate.

There were no traditional “boilerplate” hot-button slogans, but rather a forcefully stated path on which he hopes to become president and upon which he truly intends to follow through, should he be elected on Nov. 8, 2016. I do not write this as a partisan attempting to lead the parade for Jeb Bush. However, he set out a strong, visionary, and realistic set of priorities for all Americans to take seriously, and in the tradition of being Americans, think long and hard about what he said, rather than his family heritage and background.

Governor Jeb Bush laid out his vision and agenda for all to see and hear. His presentation was one of the most clearly reasoned and forcefully presented public statements of what can become good again, about this once-great nation, that is, from any perspective, floundering, being diminished, weakened, and disrespected by friend and foe alike, all throughout the world. Regardless of whom may be the next President of the United States – THIS MUST BE REVERSED, if we are to preserve, protect, and defend the America we love. There is no need for myself, or anyone else to recite the long litany of problems and difficulties with which we are now confronted.

Suffice it to say that not since Ronald Reagan’s magnificent communicative genius, have we heard such a clear clarion call to rally and regroup as a people, and as a nation. No matter who becomes the next president, he or she would do well to take Jeb Bush’s vision as their own.

I was both amazed and inspired by what Jeb Bush said during his announcement for president and gratified beyond measure. My hope and optimism have been renewed, at least for the moment. For the sake of our nation, I hope that it continues, not just for me, but for everyone in this great and glorious land of the free, and home of the brave. God Bless America.
