MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has named Clim Robbins, Nehemiah Coward, Deonate Gary and Aliou Diouf to the Preseason All-Conference Team, as announced at Wednesday’s SIAC Media Day.

The annual preseason player awards were decided by the vote of SIAC head football coaches and sports information directors.

Robbins, a 5-foot-9 cornerback from West Orlando, Fla., had his name appear twice as a First Team Defensive Back and a Second Team Punt Returner. In 2015, he led a talented CSU defensive backfield with six interceptions, returning three for touchdowns. Robbins was also utilized on offense and special teams, averaging nearly 25 yards each time he got his hands on the ball. At the conclusion of 2015, Robbins earned All-Conference and All-Region honors.

Coward, a product of Clermont, Fla., joined Robbins as a First Team Defensive Back. Coward seemed to have a knack for finding the ball and making big plays last season. The 5-11 safety finished the year with three fumble recoveries, three interceptions, 39.5 tackles and five pass break ups. Towards the end of the season, Coward played on both sides of the ball, catching one pass for 16 yards and 10 yards on three rushing attempts. After his successful junior season, the SIAC named Coward to the All-Conference Team.

Gary finished second in the conference with 21.5 tackles for a loss last year. The 6-2 linebacker from Lakeland, Fla. was also second in the conference in total tackles with 105 and ranked ninth in sacks (six). He was recognized as one of the top linebackers in NCAA Div. II and earned All-Conference and All-Region honors.

Diouf, a 6-4 offensive lineman from Cincinnati, provided a consistent presence on a line that seemed to change every week due to injuries. Diouf started every game last season and led a offensive line unit that tied for the least amount of sacks given up in the conference.

In addition to the individual awards, the league also announced the predicted order of finish for the 2016 season. Albany State garnered 14 first-place votes and 78 points to lead the East Division. Morehouse was second (52) followed by Fort Valley State (49), Clark Atlanta (29), and Benedict (22).

In the West Division, Miles was picked to finish first with eight first-place votes and 72 points. Tuskegee was voted second with seven first-place votes and 69 points. Central State followed in third (34), ahead of Lane (27) and Kentucky State (25).
