Beavercreek athletes sign with colleges

BEAVERCREEK — Nine Beavercreek High School athletes signed their National Letter of Intent for college athletics Nov. 8 inside the school’s auxiliary gym.

The athletes represent five different sports and will attend eight different universities, all but two in Ohio.

Boys basketball player Jon Alessandro signed with West Liberty University in Wheeling, W.Va. The Hilltoppers are Division II and have appeared in every top 25 poll since Feb. 2, 2010. They were national runners-up in the 2013-2014 and national semifinalists in 2015-2016.

Parker Mikesch will play volleyball at The Ohio State University, two-time defending men’s volleyball national champions.

Lexi Moore will play basketball at Greene County’s Cedarville University, a D-II school.

Haley Hutchins will play basketball at NAIA Cincinnati Christian University .

Rosalie (Rosie) Devine will row at the University of Louisville. She is a member of the Dayton Boat Club, as rowing is not offered at Beavercreek.

Raidyn Johnson and Natasha Price — who are in the top 10 all-time in every offensive category in softball at Beavercreek — will play at Wright State University.

Averi McCarthy will swim at D-I Youngstown State University, a member of the Horizon League.

Sara Skaggs will continue her volleyball career at D-III Defiance College, a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
