GLSCL South streak continues
XENIA — There’s plenty of college baseball talent throughout the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, but while the South Division teams — including the local Xenia Scouts — are on a winning streak, we’re going to enjoy it. Since inter-divisional play began on Tuesday, teams representing the GLSCL South division have yet to lose a game.
South teams won five games over their North division foes on June 18, and they claimed another three games June 19, to go 8-0 thus far. In the lone GLSCL game being played Thursday night, the South’s Southern Ohio Copperheads were leading the North’s Muskegon Clippers, 8-0, after an inning of play.
Four Wednesday night contests were rained out on Wednesday, and another five games were called Thursday night including a scheduled contest between the Scouts and host Galion Graders. Xenia and Galion hope to play a doubleheader at Galion’s Heise Park on Friday, June 21, with the first game set for 5:05 p.m. followed by Game Two at 7:35 p.m.
