Patriots win over Eagles

RIVERSIDE — Kate Hickey and Amanda Schroeder both scored 13 points, while Carroll teammates Morgan King and Olivia Seymour added nine points each, in Wednesday’s 59-40 win over Dayton Chaminade Julienne.

No statistics were reported for CJ.

Carroll (13-6, 7-1 GCL Co-Ed North) has a big game coming up at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. They’re currently a half game behind Kettering Alter in the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed’s North Division, and the Knights are up next.

Beavercreek falls to Elks

CENTERVILLE — In a game that determined second place in the Greater Western Ohio Conference’s Central Division, host Centerville handed Beavercreek a 46-32 loss, Wednesday night at Centerville High.

Keaira Youngblood led Beavercreek with 14 points scored, while Kayla Shields and Maddi Shannon scored six each. No stats were available for Centerville.

Beavercreek (13-6, 4-3 GWOC Central) plays at Clayton Northmont at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. They’ll then close out their regular season schedule with home games against Springfield (7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3) and Kettering Fairmont (1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6).

Skyhawks lose to Lebanon

LEBANON — The host Lebanon Warriors outscored Fairborn 18-4 in both the second and third quarters to claim a 65-25 win, Wednesday at Lebanon High School.

Maygan Boettcher, Rachael Sweetman and Ali Russell each scored 12 points for Lebanon.

Chloe Johnson led Fairborn (4-14, 1-6 Greater Western Ohio Conference, South) with eight points scored.

The Skyhawks will host West Carrollton at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.

Graham defeats Greenon

ENON — New Paris Graham defeated the Greenon Knights, 69-35 at Greenon High School. The Knights have now lost 12 straight games.

No individual statistics were reported from Wednesday’s game.

Greenon, now 2-18 overall, 0-9 in the Central Buckeye Conference’s Mad River Division, will host New Carlisle Tecumseh at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.

Fairborn girls softball taking registrations

FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Girls Softball Association is now accepting registrations for its fastpitch girls 10U to 18U and slowpitch girls 5-20 leagues. Girls from all communities are welcome.

Registration fee is $60 by Jan. 31, $70 starting March 1, with a $10 discount for additional family members.

In-person registration will take place 1-3 p.m. Jan. 31, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Feb. 6 and 1-3 p.m. Feb. 21 at The Inside Scoop, located at 313 W. Main St.

Reds Caravan hits Dayton on Saturday

CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds Caravan will make a stop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the National Museum of the Air Force.

The tour will consist of catcher Devin Mesoraco, minor league pitcher Cody Reed, former Reds catcher and Dayton Dragons catching coach Corky Miller, President of Baseball Operations Walt Jocketty, Chief Operating Officer Phil Castellini and mascot Mr. Redlegs.

The Caravan tour, presented by the Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network, provides fans with the opportunity to interact with current and former players, top minor leaguers, broadcasters and members of the Reds front office staff. The groups will field questions and sign autographs while time allows.

All Caravan fan stops are free and open to the public, and at each fan stop listed below the Reds will raffle two tickets to the 2016 Opening Day game on Monday, April 4 (4:10 pm) vs. the Philadelphia Phillies.

Reds sales representatives will be at each stop to answer ticketing questions and discuss 2016 ticket plans, while the Reds Hall of Fame, the Reds Community Fund and Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network will attend select stops.

Memberships to the Reds Heads Kids Club, Reds Rookies Baby Club, Club Red and Reds Hall of Fame & Museum will be for sale at select stops.

Seating is limited at all Caravan stops. Autographs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while time allows. No posed photographs. There may be restrictions on items celebrities can sign.
