Cedarville Yellow Jackets to appear on national TV Saturday

CEDARVILLE — The Great Midwest Athletic Conference basketball doubleheader between Cedarville and Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. will be televised on the American Sports Network as part of the NCAA Division II Game of the Week package.

The games between the Yellow Jackets and Trojans represent the G-MAC’s first American Sports Network broadcast in any sport.

The women’s contest will tip off at 2 p.m. EST with the men’s game following at approximately 4 p.m.

In the Cedarville area, the games will be available on Get TV over the air on WKEF Channel 22.2 and Time Warner Cable channel 996.

Entering Thursday’s match-up at Kentucky Wesleyan in Owensboro, Ky., the defending champion Lady Jackets, 16-5 overall and 7-0 G-MAC, were riding a nine-game winning streak. The CU men were 8-11 and 1-4.

Trevecca’s women, 5-11 and 4-3 G-MAC, hosted Ursuline on Thursday while the Trojan men, 9-11 and 5-1, did not play.

The two schools played in Cedarville on Jan. 4. The Lady Jackets took the women’s game, 79-45, and TNU won the men’s, 81-69.

The games will be streamed live on NCAA.com as well as the NCAA Sports Mobile App.
