XENIA — The 23nd Annual Circle of Victory Cancer Awareness Walk is set for Oct. 2 and will be held at Fairborn Community Park.

This fundraiser and cancer awareness event brings out more than 600 participants and volunteers yearly. It concludes with a balloon launch ceremony — recognizing current patients and caregivers and those who fought bravely but lost their battle. There will be music, vendors, health screenings and information.

In conjunction with this event the Circle of Victory presents an Ambassador Award to a Greene County resident who is a cancer survivor or in the midst of their cancer journey. Event officials are currently seeking nominations for this honor.

The ambassador will represent the Circle of Victory throughout the Greene County community to the best of their ability throughout the following 12 months. This includes visits to community groups to share their journey and encourage participation with Circle of Victory. It may also include radio, TV and/or print advertising.
