2015 Dog Show

XENIA – After a long blistering day and a late start, Janine Stover came out on top. Stover received Overall Champion and 1st in the intermediate Skill-a-thon.

The dog show is part of the participant’s 4-H project, but 9-year-old Tayla Green had an additional idea. She said she wanted to teach her dog, Oreo, how to walk by her side instead of in front of her. Tayla did just that and earned 4th overall, as well as 2nd in junior Skill-a-thon.

It was a long day, but a great educational experience, according to the participants.

The judge of the show helped all of the participates learn the proper ways to show their dog. Some of those things included: the correct way to hold a leash and what to do while waiting during showmanship.

All of the participants were also able to try the agility course.
